The entire climax of the film is Schofield running parallel to the front line of trenches. The French woman had an infant like 50 metres from German soldiers the whole town was destroyed and there are dozens of soldiers but no one's heard the baby crying?! Establishing shots were mostly non-existent. 15% of the film was heavy breathing and walking. The time jumps made enough sense that I could figure out, but it felt weird having to actively wonder did he literally just jump into this vehicle for 90 seconds or was it a longer trip?īecause of the one take approach, the pacing was awful at times. The one take was really cool in some spots, but it felt gimmicky, or at least unnecessary, overall. The only stand out aspect of cinematography was the flare scene and that 10 second shot where the camera glides over the water.
